The Book

According to the World Health Organization, an average 150 pound male needs 22.5 grams of protein each day, based on a 2000 calories/day intake, which means about 4.5 percent of calories should come from protein. Scary enough, many people today are taking in over 20 percent.

The human body can’t store protein, so it must be supplied on a daily basis, but if the amounts of protein consumed exceeds the amount one actually needs, the liver and kidneys are used more and degrade quicker over time.

The type of protein you consume is also very important. The type of protein in animal and diary products contains an acid-producing form that causes calcium from the bones to be used for neutralizing the excess acidic animal proteins.

Proteins are also contained in natural plant based foods. Spinach contains over 50 percent, beans over 25 and potatos over 10 percent. Plant based proteins even create proteins that are healthier then animal proteins!
